Prayagraj: A 14-year-old boy was allegedly axed to death by four persons, including two women and a minor boy, in Kadipur village under the limits of Kotwali police station of Pratapgarh district Wednesday night, police said.
They said the deceased, identified as Talib Ali of Kadipur village, reportedly had a dispute with other children in the morning and was attacked in revenge.
Kotwali police said Ali was attacked with axe and sticks when he was going to offer prayers at a local mosque. The family members and police took him to a nearby hospital where doctors referred him to Prayargaj. However, the boy succumbed to his injuries on way to Prayargaj.
Based on the complaint of deceased’s uncle Shakir Ali, an FIR has been lodged by Kotwali police against four persons, including Shabnam and Meena, Arif and a minor boy under section 304 (causing death of any person by doing any rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide), 504 (intentionally insulting, and thereby giving provocation to any person, intending or knowing it to be likely that such provocation to commit any other offence) and 506 (grievous hurt).
Police have detained three persons, including the minor, for quizzing. The body has been sent for autopsy and further probe is on, police said.
