Prayagraj: The evaluation work of answer sheets of UP Board high school and intermediate exams completed on Friday a day before the deadline of April 1.
A total of 1,43,933 examiners were appointed to evaluate 3.19 crore answer sheets. This included about 1.86 crore answer sheets of high school for which 89,698 examiners were appointed and appointment of 54,235 examiners for 1.33 crore answer sheets of intermediate.
The evaluation work had commenced at 258 evaluation centres across the state from March 18.
“It is after 30 years that there was no wrong opening of question paper from any centre and neither did the situation of re-examination arise anywhere. The board has now started preparing to declare the result on time,” said UP Board secretary Dibyakant Shukla.
Throughout the checking of the answer sheets, the Board officials led by Shukla kept a close vigil on daily basis. This is for the first time that the evaluation work has been completed before the deadline. While in the previous years, the evaluation work was extended a few days beyond deadline.
Also, in a first, training of examiners and deputy principal examiners, their deputy controllers were conducted through audio-video presentation at the regional office level, to ensure error-free evaluation. “Due to the timely training, the evaluation work could be completed ahead of time,” said Shukla.
With the aim of fair and timely evaluation, one static magistrate was appointed at each evaluation centre and for the supervision of all the evaluation centres, located in each district, the principal of DIET was appointed as supervisor, he said.
Moreover, Section 144 was imposed in a radius of 100m around the evaluation centres for security arrangements and at least four armed police guards and local intelligence unit/police personnel in plain uniform were also deployed till the evaluation period. The evaluation work was done under the supervision of CCTV with a voice recorder and it was monitored from the state level control room, he added.
