‘state Generates 436 Mw Of Solar Power’ | Bhubaneswar News

Bhubaneswar: Out of 5,204 MW electricity produced in the state, 436 MW has been generated from solar energy, energy minister Pratap Keshari Deb told the assembly here on Friday.
According to Gridco, a state-owned company which carries business of transmission, bulk supply of electricity and other related activities, Odisha gets allocated share of 2,719 MW including 1,154 MW renewable energy from the central sector.
From the state sector, Odisha gets 5,204 MW, including 2,660 MW from renewable energy like solar (436 MW), hydro (2,095 MW), mini hydroelectric project (109 MW) and biomass (20 MW).
He said the state government has taken various steps to reduce the level of pollution and increase the production of renewable energy. The state has framed Odisha Renewable Energy (RE) Policy-2022 to increase the production of solar power and other renewable energy. There is a plan to produce 10,000 MW renewable energy from different sources by 2030. tnn
