Residents of Shokat Mohalla in Ward No. 2 of Mehmedabad city have been disturbed by the perennially rising sewage. 700 people from 140 houses living in this area pass through this road every day, which has to wade through the sewage water that rises every twelve months. Locals complain that complaints are often made by local people in the municipality. But the difficulty does not go away.

The locals, who have been suffering from this problem for the last four years, have sarcastically complained to the Chief Officer that even if the problem is not solved permanently, but temporarily arrange one or two small boats to alleviate some of the suffering. The area is Muslim-majority, and the holy month of Ramadan is currently underway.

The petitioner has also expressed the fear that for the elderly people, crossing this road means deliberately breaking a bone.
