- Sahajananda Swami was born on Chaitri Nom in 1781 in Chhapaiya village of Uttar Pradesh.
Bhagwana Swaminarayana (Sahjananda Swami) established the temple of Lakshminarayana Dev in Vadtal on Kartak Sudi Ekadashi of Samvat 1882 (AD 1826) and raised the sect called Swaminarayana Sampradaya. Today more than 18 lakh devotees are engaged in Charotar alone. Apart from Vadtal there are Swaminarayan temples in 70 more villages including Dabhan, Anand, Nadiad. Then Sahajananda Swami, the founder of Swaminarayan Sampradaya, was born in 1781 in Chhapaiya village of Uttar Pradesh as Chaitri. Many memoirs are associated with the Charotar of Sahajananda Swami.
Sahajananda Swami first visited Nadiad on 26th March in 1825 AD. At that time, the surrounding villages including Nadiad city taught people to live faithfully together. Then he reached Vadtal while wandering in this parish. Where he started the Swaminarayan Sampradaya by taking permanent residence. Swami visited Nadiad 5 times. In Samvat 1858, Gangaram Mohanram, who lived in Nadiad Vaniya Pol from Dabhan, reached there. Haribhaktas made a house-to-house visit.
He came to Nadiad from Dabhan for the second time in Samvat 1862. Baroto, Sathodar and twenty townsmen and desai called him. Then he gave a beautiful lecture on taste. While for the third time in 1865, Pandharamani was performed at the house of Patidars. He came for the fourth time in Samvat 1868. Came to Nadiad from Wadtal in 1881. At this time he had settled down with seventy-five. It is said that Santram Maharaj pioneered the Swaminarayan sect by building a Swaminarayan temple in Vadtal village. Which has spread across the world today.
Swaminarayan arrived in Lord Ananda
Bhagwan Swaminarayan left the Vadtal Swaminarayan temple and reached Anand a quarter of a year ago. He stayed overnight at the ancient well located at the place where Rokdi Hanumanji temple is located and bathed with the well water. The well of Prasadi can be seen even today.
