HYDERABAD: An unknown assailant opened fire at a restaurant manager in Hafeezpet on Wednesday night, killing the man on the spot.
Cyberabad police said that Devender (35), who hailed from West Bengal, had five or six bullet wounds. The incident happened around 9.30 pm. Prima-facie police suspect that personal enmity could be the cause of the murder.
Initial enquiry revealed that Devender had left the restaurant on his two-wheeler. He had gone only a little distance when the assailant approached his bike and opened fire.
“As of now we suspect only one assailant was there at the time of the crime. We are gathering more details,” said a cop.tnn
Police suspect that the accused used a country-made weapon. They are verifying CCTV footage. Cops contacted family members and employees to confirm if he had any previous enmity.
