IPL 2023 is going to start from today at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. First, the opening match between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings is to be held. All the tickets for today’s match are sold out, so the stadium with a capacity of 1.15 lakh spectators will be packed. People will be allowed to enter the stadium from 3:30 pm onwards. Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia, Katrina Kaif and singer Arijit Singh will perform at the opening ceremony. During the opening ceremony today, around 1500 drones will be used to create the IPL 2023 cup in the sky.

Special notification to prevent black market of tickets
There is a black market for IPL match tickets. When the sale of match tickets starts, some elements buy a large number of tickets at once and then sell them at high prices. A special notification has been issued by the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner to stop the black market of IPL matches in Ahmedabad. In which any person found selling IPL match tickets at a higher price than the price will be prosecuted under Section 131 of the Gujarat Police Act 1951. This notification will be applicable from today till 16 May 2023.

Metro will be available every 12 minutes
The metro will run till 2.30 am to transport the spectators to and from the stadium for the first match of IPL to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium today. While 74 buses of BRTS will run till 12 midnight and 91 buses of AMTS till 1:30 am. Metro will be available every 12 minutes. The corners of the stadium were filled with water after rains fell in the city yesterday on Thursday evening. Entry to Modi Stadium will be given from 3 PM onwards.

A grand opening ceremony of IPL-16 will be held before the first match. In which famous singer Arijit Singh, actress Tamannaah Bhatia, Rashmika Mandana and other stars will perform. 41-year-old Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the captain of Chennai while Hardik Pandya is the captain of Gujarat Titans. Reports of Dhoni being unfit due to injury were rife on Thursday but the team later clarified that Dhoni is fully fit and ready to play against Gujarat. 2022 was Hardik Pandya’s first season as IPL captain.

An additional 21 buses will be run on the Naroda route out of the usual 45 nights
Additional 21 buses will be run on LD to Jhundal route of BRTS and on Jhundal to Naroda route in addition to 45 nights as usual. In addition to the usual 66 buses of 10 routes of AMTS, additional 25 buses will be run. 5 additional buses will be placed from areas including Vasana, Maninagar, Odhav, CTM, Thalatej. Today the first match will be played between Gujarat Titans and Chennai.

Janpath T to Motera road closed for vehicles from 2 pm
The road from Janpath to Motera will be closed for motorists from 2 pm today. From Janpath, Visat will be able to travel to Tapovan Circle through ONGC. 29 more BRTS buses will be laid, along with increasing its routes, and metro timings will also be extended till 2:30 am. A bus will be available from the stadium every 8 to 10 minutes.
