Prayagraj: An exhibition of the latest paintings of eminent artist Awadhesh Mishra would be on display at North Central Zone Cultural Centre from March 17. The five-day exhibition is titled Kathghodwa and 35 paintings of Mishra will be on display, said centre director Prof Suresh Sharma.
Mishra is known for preserving lost cultural values and express them with contemporary art experiments through his paintings. The colours used in his paintings are vibrant in celebration in which one can feel the gaiety and energy.
Mishra was born in 1970 in Mathgovind village, Bhoya, Ayodhya. Having received BA from Avadh University, Master’s in Arts from Lucknow University, BFA and MFA from Banaras Hindu University, PhD from Rohilkhand University and DLT from Khairagarh, he is currently teaching at Dr Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow. Mishra’s has displayed his artworks in London, Birmingham, Korea, Italy, Dubai, Muscat as well as in domestic circuit.
He has done 15 solo and several collective art exhibitions. He has bagged several national and state level awards, including Lalit Kala Akademi Award, Uttar Pradesh and fellowship from department of Culture, Govt of India. tnn
