RAJKOT: Narcotics total worth Rs 36 lakh were seized in two separate raids conducted by the police in Jamnagar and Surendranagar district in 24 hours ending Saturday.
The Jamnagar special operations group (SOG) kept a watch near Khijadiya bypass on the Rajkot highway and stopped a private bus following information that a couple was carrying mephedrone. On checking, they found 60gm mephedrone from passengers Salim Lobi and his wife Reshma.

Primary interrogation revealed that they had procured the drugs from a Nigerian national named Joe from Mumbai’s Dongri area and it was to be supplied to their friend Samir Sama in Jamnagar.
In another case, the Surendranagar SOG seized nearly 223 kg poppy straws from a truck coming from Rajasthan. The two people arrested told police that the stock was to be supplied in Rajkot.
The total seizure including the truck amounted to Rs 27 lakh.
