Ensure drinking water availability in Yerragondapalem, Andhra Pradesh minister tells officials | Amaravati News

AMARAVATI: Taking the drinking water crisis in Yerragondapalem constituency on a serious note, municipal administration minister Dr Adimulapu Suresh on Thursday directed the officials to dig bore wells in the villages where there is no canal water source.
He wanted the officials to initiate immediate measures to provide relief to the villages.
The minister also presented the silk robes to the deities at Sri Rama temple in Pedda Dornala on the occasion of Sri Ram Navami on Thursday.
The minister participated in the Kalyanotsavam along with his son and George group of educational institutions correspondent Vishal.
Later, minister reviewed the drinking water issue with the senior officials of Rural Water Supply (RWS), Panchayat Raj and irrigation departments.
He asked the officials to ensure that people should not face troubles to fetch drinking water. He said that RWS and Panchayat Raj officials should take the support of irrigation department to fill the village tanks wherever it was possible.
He directed the RWS officials to dig new borewells in the interior villages where there was no canal source. He said that new bore wells should also be taken up in place of the dried up borewells. “We should go for transportation of water as a last option. Explore all possibilities to ensure that there is no drinking water trouble in the coming summer,” directed Suresh.
