GURGAON: A Class 12 student is believed to have jumped to his death from the 13th floor balcony of an apartment at a highrise in Sector 41 at midnight on Tuesday.
Though a note has not been recovered, police said preliminary investigation indicates the 17-year-old was under stress due to exams. His family, who were inside the house at the time, has not filed any complaint. Cops are looking into the incident.
Police said security guards at the society heard a thud around 12am on Tuesday. Soon after, they saw the teenager lying in a pool of blood, and informed the family and police.
The boy was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Sector 10, where doctors declared him dead.
“The student committed suicide. We have handed over the body to the family after a post-mortem examination was conducted. We are looking into the incident under Section 174 of the CrPC,” said Dr Kavita, additional commissioner of police, East Gurgaon.
