In the ancient temple of Nagar Devi Sri Kalika Mataji in Patan city, for the last 14 consecutive years, two-day programs of classical singing, playing and dancing and semi-classical singing and playing are held every year on Chaitra Sud Athama and Noma days. According to this tradition, classical singing, playing and dancing plays were performed on Wednesday night

In the first stage, Madhavi Choksi performed a dance according to the form of Shri Mataji. Then Nandita Bhatt and Sakshi Soni performed a Kathak dance as a duo. And in the second stage, forty students of Ahmedabad’s famous music institute ‘Swaralaya Akademi’ presented a classical group singing. The audience was mesmerized. Which was the first occasion for Patan Nagar. Then Ami Parikh in the third stage and Radhika Parikh in the fourth stage presented classical singing with their melodious voice.

In the fifth stage, Pandit Vikas Pirakh performed classical singing to please Mataji. And in the last and sixth stage, Pandit Neeraj Parikh, the internationally famous and close disciple of Pandit Jashrajji, enthralled Mataji by performing classical singing with his high voice and mesmerized the audience.

Thursday evening will feature semi-classical singing, light vocal music and ensemble tabla. In which Dr. Along with Samyak Parekh and Kamlesh Swamy, the artist-students of Patan who have received awards at the state level this year are Shikha Nayak, Pooja Barot, Khyati Nayak, Mayur Dave, Diya Yogi, Aarti Limbachiya, Vaidehi Thakkar, Sheetal Rajput, Pravin Gadhvi, Deepa Thakor etc. Semi-classical and light vocal music will be presented. Patan’s famous tabla player Dixit Prajapati and his group of disciples will perform tabla.
